The Khadas Mind 2s is a new mini PC that is built on a modular platform and has now become available. The key technology of this interesting system is a special connector that can be used to attach various add-on modules. This connector is called Mind Link offers a bandwidth of 256 GT/s.
In terms of expansion modules, the manufacturer offers the so-called Mind Dock, which provides additional connectivity options. Meanwhile, the Mind Graphics module acts as an external graphics card. The Mind xPlay, on the other hand, transforms the mini PC into a somewhat peculiar convertible laptop, or mobile workstation as the company calls it. We’ve already had the opportunity to review the base model, and the overall concept remains the same with the Khadas Mind 2s.
The compact computer actually sports a battery with a tiny capacity of just 5.55Wh. When the Kadas Mind 2s is disconnected from a power outlet, it almost immediately goes into standby. Therefore, the battery is only intended to bridge a very short interruption of power when another add-on module is being connected.
Furthermore, the Khadas Mind 2s measures 5.75 x 4.13 x 0.79 inches and comes with an Intel Core Ultra 7 255H. It features soldered 64GB LPDDR5X RAM with a maximum clock speed of 7,467 MHz. The M.2 2230 SSD is connected via PCIe 4.0 and has 2TB of capacity.
The mini PC itself supports Thunderbolt 4, USB 4, HDMI 2.1 and offers two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports as well. The manufacturer has now put its new mini PC on sale for an official MSRP of $1,599. Khadas is also selling products on Amazon, but the new Mind 2s is not listed there just yet.
