Maintained and funded by Offensive Security, Debian-based Kali Linux is now back with a fresh update. The list of over 600 penetration-testing tools has just received 14 new tools in Kali Linux 2024.4, but it can also be considered a milestone release since it drops support for 32-bit kernels and images.
In addition to the above, the Kali Linux 2024.4 release also sports the following:
- Python 3.12 update, with pip replaced by pipx for installing third-party packages.
- Raspberry Pi image customizations support.
- GNOME 47 with Kali team's own work on synchronizing accent color customization with the icon theme and legacy GTK window themes.
- No less than 14 new tools, including chainsaw, findomain, proximoth, sara, zenmap, and more.
- Kali NetHunter gets an updated installer, app, kernels, and store, as well as an updated website.
Kali NetHunter now provides Android 15 support for the first device so far, which happens to be the Xiaomi Mi A3. The Pro version now sports the Hijacker and NetHunter apps.
