Intel Arrow Lake gets absolutely pummeled in Mindfactory CPU sales for ongoing week as AMD dominates chart
The launch of Intel Arrow Lake and AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPUs has made one thing clear: Intel currently can’t compete in the gaming segment. This fact is quite clear in reviews for both the Core Ultra 9 285K and Ryzen 7 9800X3D.
So, it is not a surprise that gamers looking to upgrade are tempted towards the Ryzen X3D chips, as German retailer Minfactory’s CPU sales data for the current week shows a pretty clear buyer trend in favor of Ryzen chips. The situation is so one-sided that Intel has only one CPU in the top 30, a low-end and inexpensive Core i3-14100.
Ryzen 7 9800X3D dominates sales
The Ryzen 7 9800X3D, with 210 units sold, currently occupies first place in the top 30 best-selling CPUs on Mindfactory for the ongoing week. In fact, three out of the top five CPUs are X3D models with the Ryzen 7 7800X3D, the Ryzen 5 7600X3D, and the Ryzen 7 5700X3D in the second (210 units), fourth (170 units), and fifth place (140 units), respectively.
Aside from the Ryzen 7 9800X3D, the vanilla Zen 5 parts don’t seem to be that popular, as Mindfactory has apparently only managed to move 70 units of Ryzen 7 9700X, 40 units of Ryzen 9 9950X, 30 units of Ryzen 9 9900X, and only 20 units for the cheapest Zen 5 CPU, the Ryzen 5 9600X (Available on Amazon).
Intel Arrow Lake is nowhere to be seen
Intel Arrow Lake CPUs seem to be having a pretty tough time. Mindfactory has reportedly failed to sell any Core Ultra 200S CPUs so far this week. This poor performance is also somewhat reflected in the US market.
Looking at Newegg’s best-selling CPUs, the Ryzen 7 9800X3D shows solid demand and is in the first place, as six out of the top ten places occupied by Ryzen processors. While Intel does have decent representation in the top ten with the Core i9-14900K, Core i7-14700K, Core i7-12700K, and Core i9-12900K enjoying 5th to 8th positions, there is not a single Arrow Lake SKU in the top 15. The Core Ultra 7 265K only enters the picture on the 19th place when we look at the top 20.
The situation is even worse on Amazon where the Core Ultra 7 265K, the only Arrow Lake SKU in the top 50, is relegated to the 41st place. Once again, AMD Ryzen CPUs dominate the list.
Simply put, AMD is seemingly crushing Intel in the consumer desktop space right now. Chances are quite slim that Team Blue can mount a comeback without introducing a new architecture like Nova Lake. For what it’s worth, Intel has said that a performance-increasing update for Arrow Lake chips is on the way. It remains to be seen how much difference does that make.
