Huawei has officially acknowledged the MatePad Pro product name in full. Its latest Weibo video shows this tablet in action, showcasing some features such as split-screen apps and M-Pen support. The new promo also reveals that the first MatePad has dual rear cameras and will have a keyboard cover accessory.

Huawei's recent announcement of a new launch event later in November 2019 led to speculation that a new tablet called the MatePad Pro would be unveiled on this date. Now, the OEM has confirmed all details of this rumor in full with a new teaser video. It shows the slate in question, along with some accessories that will presumably be sold alongside it.

The MatePad Pro is thought to be somewhat of an evolution of the MediaPad line, as it can now clearly use the same M-Pen that is compatible with this series. However, its new name may put it in the same category as Huawei's latest flagship phablets. Furthermore, it may get other state-of-the-art specs such as a punch-hole display and 5G. In addition, it is also now rumored to have an in-display fingerprint scanner.

Other leaks suggest that it may have a minimum of 6GB of RAM, and can hold its own against premium devices such as the Mate 30 Pro. Therefore, it may compete successfully with other high-end tablets such as the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6.

On the other hand, it is not clear at present if it will be sold outside of Huawei's native China. Furthermore, should this be the case, there is still some doubt as to whether it will be able to run EMUI with Google Mobile Services at its launch.
