Further details about HarmonyOS 4.2 for the Huawei Watch 4 series smartwatches have been revealed. In April, the company recruited a limited number of beta testers in China to trial the new software. Now, Huawei has pushed the beta update to these users, giving us an insight into the features we can expect to be released publicly later.
The release notes for beta update 4.2.0.336(C00E219R1P237) include known features such as Health Glance 2.0, with new pulse wave arrhythmia analysis, sleep apnea detection, and hyperglycaemia risk assessment tools. Plus, you can now share your Health Glance with loved ones in a dedicated “family space”, and TruSeen 5.5+ is said to improve the speed and accuracy of health metric tracking. Also noted in the change log are Star Map Roaming and Astronaut Jump watch faces, improved menstrual cycle tracking and support for up to 40 alarms. Other minor changes include enhanced Bluetooth call reminders and optimized system performance and stability.
It is unclear when Huawei will publicly and globally release HarmonyOS 4.2 for the Watch 4 series smartwatches, like the Huawei Watch 4 Pro. However, it is already included with the new Huawei Watch 4 Pro Space Exploration edition, which is on sale in China and on the way to Europe. Plus, a version of HarmonyOS 4.2 is now rolling out to Huawei Watch Ultimate wearables worldwide.
