While the Mate 10 series was delisted from Huawei's update schedule a year ago, the company has provided resilient owners of the three-year-old flagship with updates once in a while. The Mate 10 Pro, for example, has now received a new OTA.
The update for the Huawei Mate 10 Pro bears the build designation "EMUI 10.0.0.183" and delivers the November security patch. That's disappointing, considering this is January. Before this, the last update for the phone was the July patch that was delivered in October. This new update weighs in at 274 MB and is pretty important, with a changelog that reads as follows;
- Improves system stability in certain scenarios.
- Integrates Android security patches released in November 2020 for improved system security.
- November 2020 security update install security fixes for different levels of exploits and issues within Huawei phones including 3 critical and 15 high levels of CVEs.
The fact that the Mate 10 Pro still receives important security updates should gladden the hearts of Mate 20 Pro owners after their devices were also delisted from Huawei's schedule a short while ago. It means that the company will continue to send updates to patch vulnerabilities at the very least.
