Huawei appears set to introduce its first smartwatch with satellite communication capabilities. So far, Huawei has not shared many details about the smartwatch, although it is thought to be separate from the forthcoming Watch 4 and Watch 4 Pro. As the image below shows, the smartwatch in question is the Watch Ultimate, which has no direct predecessor.
Potentially, the Watch Ultimate could be a variant of the Watch 4 Pro though, with Huawei having certified two Watch 4 Pro models with the Wi-Fi Alliance. Regardless, Huawei the promotional image embedded below points to the Watch Ultimate supporting satellite connectivity, with a brushed metal case reminiscent of conventional watches.
Huawei will showcase the Watch Ultimate on March 23 alongside the Watch 4 series, the P60 Pro and the Mate X3. Please note that the launch date will only apply to China, with the company likely having a separate global launch planned later this year. Given that Huawei has not started teasing the Watch Ultimate on its global social media channels yet, it is likely a few months away from being available outside the company's home market.
