Huawei is due to announce the Watch Ultimate tomorrow, following a short teaser campaign on Chinese social media. As we discussed last week, Huawei has only offered the smartwatch's name, a peek at its design and has hinted at its support for satellite connectivity. However, @RODENT950 has circulated a hands-on image of the smartwatch on Twitter.
While the leaker has not provided a source for the photo, it can be presumed that it has been cribbed from Chinese social media. On the face of it, the Watch Ultimate looks like a more robust version of Huawei's other high-end smartwatches, such as the Watch 3 Pro. Huawei has done away with the digital crown that the likes of the Watch Buds have, though. Instead, Huawei has included three round hardware buttons, similar to the Apple Watch Ultra's placement.
As far as we can tell, the Watch Ultimate does not support replacement watch straps, with no obvious gap between its strap and body. Moreover, the hands-on image embedded below shows minimal bezels. It remains to be seen whether its tachymeter is decorative or operational, though. The Watch Ultimate will debut tomorrow in China; Huawei has not confirmed if a global release is on the cards yet.
