Garmin Beta Version 25.76 now available for Fenix 6 smartwatches
Beta Version 25.76 for Garmin Fenix 6 and MARQ smartwatches is now available. The update adds a new Obstacle Course Racing activity, delivers an improved calorie burn algorithm linked to Swim activities and enhances the voice prompts played during an activity. These improvements have also been shared with the Instinct 2 Series smartwatches via Beta Version 12.09.
Other updates specific to the Fenix 6 and MARQ devices include a refreshed Altitude Acclimation widget which can now display altitude acclimation as a percentage. Users can disable auto-lap notifications during the Golf activity. Plus, you are now prompted when an inReach device is out of range, and tracking is selected. For skiing, version 25.76 allows the smartwatches to detect when you are on a ski lift versus skiing downhill. Several bug fixes are included in the update, such as low battery alerts failing to trigger a switch between power modes and a UI issue when editing alarms.
Other problems when connecting headphones and with default battery mode settings have also been resolved. Bugs in the Strength activity where the weight configuration was not automatically repeated in subsequent sets, or caused the device to crash, are also now fixed. While typical Garmin Beta updates are automatically pushed to eligible devices, this new software must be sideloaded onto your smartwatch. If you want to join the Garmin Beta Program, you can do so via Garmin Connect. The company recently announced plans to simplify the scheme, particularly for alpha updates.
