Reportedly, Honor is working to deliver a new Android budget tablet. While the device will be relatively affordable, it will still pack a large 2.5K display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 5G chipset and 35 W wired charging.

Digital Chat Station has outlined initial details about an upcoming new Honor tablet. According to the well-known leaker, the company's next Android tablet may be more of an entry-level option, perhaps a member of its Pad or Pad X series. Unfortunately, Digital Chat Station has not revealed a retail name, leaving this up to speculation for now.

Instead, the leaker reports that the unnamed tablet sports 5G connectivity by virtue of a 'Snapdragon 5G platform'. Allegedly, the same model is capable of recharging its battery at 35 W too, matching the Pad 9 and outperforming the 22.5 W of the Pad X9. Thus, it would appear that the unnamed tablet is a closer relative to the Pad 9 than the Pad X9, which the presence of a 12.1-inch and 2,560 x 1,600-pixel display with 'flash-free certified eye protection' underlines.

Strictly speaking, the inclusion of a Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chipset provides the regular Pad 9 the ability to offer 5G connectivity. However, Honor disabled all cellular connectivity on the Pad 9, unlike the Pad X9. Potentially then, Honor could be preparing to release a 5G version of the Pad 9, likely as the Honor Pad 9 5G. Other details remain unknown for now though, including a release date and whether the tablet will be available globally.
