Reviews for the Honor X8a
Honor's affordable mid-range phone X8a offers some interesting features like a high-resolution camera, but on the other hand, makes us frown when we look at the slow flash memory. Can the phone convince us overall?

That’s it for my review of the Honor X8a. This phone has a pretty impressive display as well as an average camera and an eye-catching design. But, all things considered, I don’t think this phone is worth buying in this price range. It could have been a better offering if it had been launched in the 20-22k price range. You can find much better options like the Realme 10, Redmi Note 12 (4G), and Poco X5. The Honor X8a boasts an appealing appearance as well as an acceptable chipset and camera. However, the price point at which it hit the market hinders it from standing out in the competition. Smartphones such as the Redmi Note 12 4G and Realme 10 provide considerably more value for a lower price.

In conclusion, the Honor X8a can be a compelling smartphone in the midrange segment. The weakest point we see is actually with its display as it falls behind some of its competitors. But all things considered, we can recommend this device to people who want a smartphone with a decent main camera, reliable when it comes to its battery and performance without sacrificing a big budget. With a suggested retail price of Php10,990 (for the base model 6GB+128GB), the Honor X8a is a contender in the budget mid-range market. It might not cater to power-users or gamers looking for performance and long battery life but it’s still a well-rounded phone.

The Honor X8a is not that amazing if you compare it to other entry-level phones, especially the southeast Asian market smartphones. You are getting a pretty standard configuration without any improvement in the hardware or software segment. On top of that, the phone only supports 4G connectivity, which might be a big turn-off for many people. We won’t recommend this phone because the company doesn’t improve the basic features, and X8a is not a value-for-money phone. Instead of this, you can check out the Motorola Moto G72, if you are looking for a 4G phone in the first place. On the other hand, you can also look for Realme V30 as an affordable 5G choice.

The price for HONOR X8a starts at P10,990 (base model with 6GB RAM + 128GB ROM). It is available in any HONOR kiosk and partner stores and HONOR’s official online stores on Lazada, Shoppee, and TikTok. With a sub-P15,000 price tag, the HONOR X8a is one of the competitive midrange smartphones today. Its biggest selling features are its 100MP triple camera system, big 4500mAh battery, and sleek design. An AMOLED screen can elevate the experience further, but the current display is good enough for basic use.

Despite being similar to last year’s X8, the 100-megapixel main camera, bigger battery, and use of a Helio G88 processor makes the HONOR X8a a suitable upgrade. Its main camera is the biggest improvement over the X8, as it makes the HONOR X8a competitive in the budget mid-range segment in the Philippines.

It is a small display format for smartphones. You shouldn't be severely defective in vision, and you won't see much detail on the screen and only have a small resolution available. For that, the device should be small and handy, easy to transport.

The market share of Honor products is manageable, but there are several reviews on Honor smartphones with average ratings (as of 2016).
76.25%: This rating is not earth-shattering. This rating must actually be seen as average, since there are about as many devices with worse ratings as better ones. A purchase recommendation can only be seen with a lot of goodwill, unless it is about websites that generally rate strictly.
