Home Assistant rolls out app update with multiple new features

The Home Assistant version 2026.9.3 for iOS has landed at the App Store. It arrives several weeks after the last update, version 2026.9.1, which brought new features for the Energy widget and support for the sharing of Apple Health sleep data.

With version 2026.9.3, Home Assistant users gain the ability for sensors to be enabled at a server level, both via iPhone and Apple Watch. When a second server is added, users are asked to specify the location and select what data it should receive. Other new features include an option to show a notification’s actions and an optional relevance_score for Live Activities.

Home Assistant’s version 2026.9.3 release for iOS also brings several improvements to users. For example, you can now find device related sensors like battery and storage under the Diagnostic menu. The onboarding process no longer stores the current Wi-Fi as the home network anymore, and App Shortcuts in Spotlight have a unique icon for each action. The update also included fixes for bugs like late running Apple Watch actions and failed iCloud syncing.

It is unclear when Android users of the smart home automation software will receive a 2026.9.x update, with this app currently at version 2026.8.4.
