Home Assistant releases app update with six new features

Another update has arrived for the Home Assistant app for iOS. The open-source smart home automation software’s app received a major update, version 2026.9.0, at the end of August 2026.

Now, Home Assistant app version 2026.9.1 brings more new features, improvements, and bug fixes to users of various iOS devices. Firstly, the new energy widget can now display gas and battery metrics. Via Labs, the software’s testing area, there is support for sharing Apple Health sleep data. Plus, there is a new Manage Storage option in the Settings.

As far as improvements go, the layout of Live Activities in the Dynamic Island has been expanded, and entity icon colors and tile icon actions will now sync with the frontend. On top of this, Home Assistant has tackled problems linked to potential crashes, Apple Watch entity states not updating, and lock screen widgets not running scripts as expected.
