Amazon's upcoming remote will share a key feature with the Apple TV Siri Remote

Amazon has released a new Fire TV stick with 4K streaming capabilities, and it comes with a new remote that is also compatible with other Fire TV streamers. However, it isn't the only new remote Amazon has been working on.

The tech giant has also announced the Fire TV Remote Plus, although it won't arrive until early 2027. Nevertheless, it has provided some details of the new accessory.

The Fire TV Remote Plus will sport a new design when it arrives, but instead of a plastic shell like Amazon's other TV remotes, this will have an aluminum housing, just like the Apple TV Siri Remote, although Amazon describes the design as “distinctive”.

In addition, the Fire TV Remote Plus will have backlit buttons like the Fire TV Alexa Voice Remote Pro (currently $19.99 on Amazon). The upcoming remote will also have a Find My Remote feature. To find a lost remote, all you need to do is say “Alexa, find my remote”, and the remote will play a sound.

We don't know how loud the sound will be, but it will need to be audible enough in case it is buried underneath cushions. The find my remote feature works with a compatible Alexa device, the Alexa app, or the Remote Finder button inside the Fire TV mobile app.

There's no mention of the price of the Fire TV Remote Plus, but when it arrives, it will replace the Fire TV Alexa Voice Remote Pro which is currently selling for nearly half off its launch price.
