IKEA releases new multi-functional alarm clock with built-in sensors

The IKEA Stengrönska, an alarm clock with a hygrometer and a thermometer, has appeared in Asia. This new multifunctional product was recently listed on the brand’s websites in Japan and China.

Officially known as the IKEA Stengrönska alarm clock with hygro-/thermometer, black, the product is designed to be used on a desk or a bedside table. The current time in your choice of a 12 or 24 hour format, the date and the day of the week are shown on the integrated display. Here, you can also see the room temperature and humidity readings from the integrated sensors, displayed in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen. Another feature of the display is a backlight, making it easier to read in low lighting.

IKEA’s Stengrönska alarm clock offers up to three alarms and adjustable volume levels with six settings. Plus, there is a nine-minute snooze function. It can also be used to charge your smartphone via a wireless charging pad on its top. In the Wireless Power Consortium database, this is list as a Qi 2.1.0 certified 15W charger.

There is also a USB-C port at the rear, which can be used to charge a second device, and a charging icon is displayed on the screen. This alarm clock also has LED strip lighting under its body, softly illuminating the surface beneath it, with three brightness levels. It is worth noting that, while powered via USB-C, you can also install two AAA batteries to save the time and alarm settings in case of a power outage.

In Japan, the IKEA Stengrönska Alarm clock with hygro-/thermometer retails for ¥4,999 (~$32), and it sells for ¥199 (~$30) in China. IKEA has yet to confirm whether or when this product could be released in other markets like North America or Europe.
