Epson launches three new 4K laser home cinema projectors

Epson is expanding its home theater portfolio with a new range of 4K laser projectors that sit below the existing flagship LS11000. The established LS11000 remains in the lineup and currently retails for $4,500. The newly introduced LS models aim to bring laser illumination and 4K resolution to more accessible price tiers for home cinema builders.

The entry point for the new lineup is the LS5000, which carries a retail price of $2,000. This model produces an estimated 2,500 lumens of brightness and features two HDMI inputs. Its throw ratio ranges from 1.32 to 2.15, allowing users to project a 120-inch image from a distance of approximately 11.5 feet. The projector includes manual lens shift and Bluetooth connectivity for pairing headphones during private viewing sessions.

Moving slightly up the tier is the LS6000, priced at $2,200. This unit shares most of the core specifications with the base model but increases the maximum brightness output to 3,400 lumens. Epson notes that the LS6000 and the other new models have lower contrast ratios compared to the premium LS11000. The pricing places the LS6000 directly against several recent DLP projectors on the market, offering the characteristic color accuracy of Epson LCD technology alongside a slight trade-off in black levels.

Rounding out the additions is the LS7500, a shorter-throw variant capable of delivering 3,500 lumens. This model features a throw ratio between 1.0 and 1.3, allowing it to cast a 120-inch image from just 8.8 feet away. The reduced throw distance makes it suitable for dedicated home theater setups in smaller rooms rather than serving as a traditional ultra-short-throw console. The new Epson 4K laser projectors will begin shipping to retailers later this month.
