At the beginning of the year, Samsung unveiled its new notebooks at CES in Las Vegas (we report): Galaxy Book6, Galaxy Book6 Pro, and Galaxy Book6 Ultra. Samsung has not yet released a Galaxy Book6 360 Pro, but it is possible that this will be released later in 2026.
We were able to get a first impression of the new notebooks at Samsung Germany. There is also plenty of new information, prices, and the launch date. The following table provides an initial overview of the Samsung Galaxy Book6 series:

Samsung Galaxy Book6 Ultra: Available with either GeForce RTX 5060 or 5070
The top model in the new series is the Galaxy Book6 Ultra, which is equipped with up to an Intel Core Ultra X9 processor from the third Core Ultra generation (Panther Lake). However, the top-of-the-line version will not be available in Germany initially, but “only” the Core Ultra X7. Either an Intel Arc B390, a GeForce RTX 5060, or an RTX 5070 is used as the graphics unit. The device now measures 15.4 millimeters in height and weighs either 1.79 or 1.89 kilograms, depending on the configuration.
The 16-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2x touch display offers a resolution of 2,880 x 1,800 pixels, supports an adaptive refresh rate of 30 to 120 Hz, and, according to Samsung, achieves a peak brightness of up to 1,000 nits in HDR mode and 500 nits in SDR mode. Gorilla Glass 5 with an anti-reflective DXC coating is used for protection. In an initial quick measurement with an Opple Lightmaster, the Galaxy Book6 Ultra shows a PWM frequency of 240 Hz.
An enlarged vapor chamber is said to make cooling about 35 percent more efficient. We subjected the notebook to an initial load test using FurMark 2. In the 1,440p benchmark, the fans are clearly audible but not too loud. However, we also noticed a quiet whining noise coming from the test device.
The connectivity options include two Thunderbolt 4 ports, one USB-A port, one HDMI 2.1 port, and an SD card slot. The latter supports UHS-II with up to 312 MB/s (UHS-I: up to 104 MB/s), but not SD Express. The battery has a capacity of around 80.2 Wh.
The Galaxy Book 6 Ultra, which is available exclusively in gray, comes with up to 32 GB of RAM and a maximum of 2 TB of SSD storage. A model with 64 GB of RAM is not currently available in Germany due to high memory prices. Sound is provided by six Dolby Atmos speakers, which delivered rich, wide sound in an initial listening test.
All in all, the Galaxy Book 6 Ultra is a high-quality, powerful notebook, but it is quite heavy and can also be very expensive.
Samsung Galaxy Book6 Pro: AMOLEDs in two sizes and with Intel Arc
For the first time, the Galaxy Book 6 Pro also features vapor chamber cooling. The 16-inch model weighs 1.59 kilograms and measures 11.9 millimeters in height, while the 14-inch version weighs 1.24 kilograms and is only 11.6 millimeters thin. Both models can be configured with Intel Core Ultra X7 processors, up to 32 GB of RAM, and a maximum of 1 TB of SSD storage.
The larger 16-inch model has four Dolby Atmos speakers, while the smaller one has two. A 2 MPix webcam is integrated in both models. The battery capacity is 78 Wh for the 16-inch book and 67 Wh for the 14-inch version.
Buyers will have to do without the SD card slot on the Ultra model. The large haptic touchpad has been inherited from the Ultra and is very good. In contrast, the one on the 14-inch model seems almost puny.
We also measured a PWM flicker of 240 Hz on the AMOLED display of the Book6 Pro. And the 16-inch version of the notebook is only slightly quieter than the Ultra with RTX 5060 in the FurMark 2 test, but it does not squeak. Nevertheless, both models impress in the first hands-on test and deliver a great overall package.
Samsung Galaxy Book6: An all-rounder at a low price
Samsung offers two basic versions of the Galaxy Book 6 as the most affordable entry-level models. Depending on the configuration, the 16-inch model weighs either 1.75 or 1.85 kilograms, while the 14-inch model weighs 1.48 kilograms. The 16-inch version is available with or without touch functionality, but both feature a viewing angle-stable LTPS panel with 1,920 × 1,200 pixels and a brightness of up to 350 cd/m².
The Panther Lake Core Ultra 7 355 and Core Ultra 5 325 chips are available as processors. The battery has a capacity of 61.2 Wh. Buyers will have to do without Thunderbolt 4; instead, there are classic connections with USB-C, USB-A, LAN, and HDMI, supplemented by a microSD slot, which, however, does not support microSD Express either.
Unfortunately, we only had the 16-inch model available for our hands-on test, which left a high-quality and solid impression. One downside is the small click touchpad. We did not notice any flickering of the display.
An enterprise version of the Samsung Galaxy Book6 is also expected to be available, which is similar to the consumer version in most areas, but comes with Windows 11 Pro and has an additional IR camera for Windows Hello. The 16-inch model will also be available with a full keyboard, including a numpad. Exact prices for these models are not yet known, but they are expected to be only slightly higher.
Market launch and prices of the Galaxy Book6 series
