Samsung's Galaxy Book6 Ultra is beaten by Lenovo's Yoga Pro 9i 16 in terms of price

Our review of Samsung's latest Galaxy Book6 Ultra showed that it is a very good, but also very expensive multimedia laptop. The similarities to the Apple MacBook Pro 16 are hard to ignore, but there are obviously plenty of Windows rivals as well, including the very good Lenovo Yoga Pro 9i 16, which we tested with two different OLED panels.
Samsung improved the OLED panel of the new Galaxy Book6 Ultra, but it "only" caught up to the standard OLED screen in the Yoga Pro 9i 16. Both models offer excellent image quality and it is no problem to edit images. However, Lenovo goes even a step further and also offers the high-end SKU with a much brighter Tandem OLED screen, which is among the best displays you can currently get on a laptop.
In terms of performance, both systems use up to the RTX 5070 and they are pretty equal, but the Yoga is available with 64 GB RAM, while Samsung only offers 32 GB models in some countries. Samsung has a massive advantage in terms of battery runtime at 150 nits (16.8 vs. 11.1 hours) and also at max SDR brightness (8.8 vs. 4.5 hours), but the Lenovo display also gets almost twice as bright in SDR (almost 1,000 vs. 500 nits on the Samsung).
Finally, there is the price, and this is where the Yoga Pro 9i has a major advantage. The high-end SKU with the Core Ultra 9 285H, RTX 5070, 64 GB RAM and the excellent Tandem OLED panel currently retails for €2,699 from Lenovo, so more than €1,000 less compared to the Galaxy Book. Sure, the Samsung is still brand-new and prices will drop eventually, but we do not expect them to fall below the €3,000-mark.
