In this HP Envy x360 14 review I will talk in-depth about how HP has taken the 2-in-1 form factor and has made it into a high value for money proposition. The HP Envy x360 14 sees a major refresh from last year. Sporting a new design and processor, all at a great value for the price, the HP Envy x360 14 might just establish itself as one of the best 2-in-1 thin and light laptops this year.

The HP Envy x360 2-in-1 nails the basics with its sleek design, premium build, and a vibrant 120 Hz OLED display. However, HP's performance choices with the Intel Core Ultra 5 125U Meteor Lake CPU raises a few questions. We look into this and other aspects of this impressive convertible.

HP has moved on from the Envy line, but that doesn't mean the 14-inch variant has nothing left to offer. Enterprises looking for a capable machine that's a few steps above entry-level, but doesn't blow the bank, would do well to consider the HP Envy x360 14-fc0009na despite several flaws that dock a few points off. It performs admirably for its price tag and is enjoyable to type with. The display could be much brighter, sure. The battery life could also be much longer, and the SSD a bit faster – but this is very much par for the course with a laptop that's around the $1,000 mark. Ultimately, it offers very capable hardware and a handful of entry-level AI features alongside some great security tools to keep you protected while you're working on the go while letting you go light on the budget.

The Envy x360 14 is a good-looking machine both from a design standpoint and in terms of its display, and physically, it's a pleasure to use. But it's simply underpowered for a system costing a decent chunk over $1,000, and only fractionally lighter than rivals that offer greatly improved performance and competitive battery life.

With AI tools now becoming a common sight in businesses everywhere, it's clear adoption is coming on fast. However, it's one thing having this incredibly powerful new era of technology as purely software, but another getting it integrated into your everyday hardware. If you're looking for a solid workplace companion, the HP Envy x360 14-fc009na should tick all your boxes. Offering a bright display, lightweight build and all-day battery life, it manages to handle everything we threw at it - and although not quite the indispensable business tool it promises to be soon, having the opportunity to utilize Copilot via a dedicated key is a welcome touch. reelancers and creators, take a step forward in this AI age with an integrated Microsoft Copilot button, putting the Windows AI tool front and center - but how does it stand up as an everyday working device?

If you want a light and compact laptop that’s versatile, the Envy x360 14 ticks all the boxes. It’s light, solid, flexible enough to impress an origami master, has a superb OLED touchscreen and comes with a good pen. The speakers are mellifluous if a bit quiet, there’s a decent selection of I/O ports and the battery life is good by x86 if not ARM standards. Performance could be stronger, but it’s unfair to judge the x360 too harshly on that front when it isn’t far off the highly regarded M3 MacBook Air.

The HP Envy x360 2-in-1 sports a sleek design, solid speakers, and a vibrant OLED display, but the hardware powering all that falls short in key performance benchmarks. Especially considering the $1380 price tag on the Envy, other laptops in this price range can offer stronger performance, leaving the Envy overshadowed. The HP Envy’s status as a 2-in-1 laptop helps it stand out but it still falls short of premium 2-in-1s like the HP Spectre x360 14. Considering the significant difference in performance, if you’re in the market for a 2-in-1 Windows laptop, it may be worth paying more for the HP Spectre. For even more recommendations, you can also visit our guide to the best 2-in-1 laptops. The HP Envy x360 2-in-1 could be a good deal if it came at a lower price. It might be a good fit if you are only interested in the lowest spec versions or find it on sale.

As specced, the HP Envy 14 x360 costs Rs 1,07,999 in India. For the price, the laptop sports a premium design and is outfitted with a class-leading display that is neck and neck with its Spectre counterpart. Of course, some niceties are reserved for the Spectre line, including various GlamCam features, a haptic trackpad, and a more powerful processor with a better iGPU. Even so, the Envy 14 x360 doesn’t feel like a stripped-down version of the Spectre, especially when you factor in that it costs Rs 80K less! All things considered, the Envy 14 x360 is a compelling option for consumers seeking a high-quality yet affordable convertible laptop with an OLED display.

The HP Envy x360 14 is a good laptop for general use and productivity. It has a great trackpad, a serviceable keyboard, 16GB of RAM in the base model, Wi-Fi 7 support, and the inclusion of a webcam shutter is a thoughtful extra. I’m also impressed by the slim profile and long battery life. The gorgeous OLED display is the primary selling point for this machine, though. It’s rare to see such a good screen on a laptop priced at just over $1,000. It’s not all good news, though. HP’s default power mode cuts performance noticeably, and you have to manually change that setting every time you need more power. That will cut into the strong battery life. It would also be nice if HP could reduce the number of pre-installed apps, possibly by centralizing all its settings in a single app instead of three. Still, this machine is worth considering if you need a compact, capable 2-in-1 laptop.

These days, it’s not hard to find plenty of performance, great build quality, and even spectacular OLED displays in laptops under $1,000. It’s one of the most important developments in laptops over the past year or so. The 2024 edition of the HP Envy x360 14 looks to join those ranks. It’s priced right, enjoys the Envy’s usual solid build, and has the increasingly common OLED display. However, it also has a lower-power processor that doesn’t make up for its lackluster performance with better efficiency. That makes it a less attractive option that only makes me more eager to see HP’s rebranded lineup within the Copilot+ program, which would fix both of these issues.

14.00:
14 inch display size represents a middle ground between the small subnotebook formats and the screens of the standard 15 inch laptops.
The reason for the popularity of mid-sized displays is that this size is reasonably easy on the eyes, provides good resolutions with usable detail sizes, yet does not consume too much power and the devices can still be reasonably compact.
In the past, 14-inch devices were very rare, but now they are the standard for laptops after the 15-inchers.

71.52%: This rating is poor. More than three quarters of the models are rated better. That is rather not a purchase recommendation. Even if verbal ratings in this area do not sound that bad ("sufficient" or "satisfactory"), they are usually euphemisms that disguise a classification as a below-average laptop.
