Reviews for the HP EliteBook Ultra G1i 14
The EliteBook Ultra G1i 14 is HP's new business spearhead featuring a high-quality aluminum case. Its Lunar Lake processor delivers sufficient performance and its fans are barely audible during use, but what compromises do you have to make for its low weight of 1.2 kilograms?

Quality across the board. That’s the HP Elitebook Ultra G1i’s style. You get low weight and awesome portability with no obvious compromises to the build. Battery life is long for office work-type jobs, yet there’s power for plenty more, too. The Elitebook doesn’t look boring either, despite the buttoned-up-sounding name. A few elements could still improve, though. As is so often the case, this Windows laptop’s speakers and touchpad aren’t quite a match for Apple’s. But the only major sting here is the storage spec. Overall, the HP Elitebook Ultra G1i is a business-traveller laptop that deserves attention from the wider audience of ultraportable shoppers. It’s top-quality throughout.

The HP Elitebook Ultra G1i is a lightweight and stylish business laptop that impresses with potent performance, a gorgeous OLED screen and excellent battery life. Its keyboard and trackpad are also highlights. Just watch out for its higher price and meagre set of ports. The Samsung Galaxy Book 5 Pro is this laptop’s closest rival, coming with a similar price and set of components, with remarkably similar performance. Its OLED screen also offers even stronger contrast and deeper blacks, while you also get a much better set of inputs with HDMI and a microSD reader. In addition, the Lenovo ThinkPad T14s Gen 6 features a better set of ports and similar power with the Ryzen 7 AI 360 chip inside – it lacks an OLED panel, though. Overall, the Elitebook Ultra G1i is a fantastic business laptop if you want a svelte and stylish one with solid power and a gorgeous display, although I think Samsung’s is just slightly more complete. HP's EliteBook Ultra G1li is on sale, with prices starting at $1,999. My review unit costs $2,199. I recommend this model to people looking for an alternative to a MacBook Pro. It offers a similar experience without being forced to learn a new operating system. Other options are available on the company's online store, including more affordable models sporting an Intel Core Ultra 5 226V chipset alongside 16GB of RAM.

If you’re a business user looking for a well-built laptop that feels great in hand and looks just as good, with decent productivity performance and great battery life, the EliteBook Ultra G1i is a great choice. Toss in a spectacular OLED display for good measure. In fact, those are qualities that many consumers are looking for. However, the EliteBook comes with a host of business features that most consumers don’t need, which pumps up the price. So, if you have money to burn, then it’s a great laptop for consumers — but I suspect most buyers will be businesses.

Intel Arc 140V: A pretty fast integrated graphics adapter that higher-end Intel Lunar Lake family processors employ. This is a direct successor to the Arc 8; it can drive three SUHD 4320p monitors simultaneously via HDMI 2.1, eDP 1.5 and DP 2.1. With the 140V, all 2023 and 2024 games are playable at 1080p on low graphics settings.
Modern games should be playable with these graphics cards at low settings and resolutions. Casual gamers may be happy with these cards.

Core Ultra 7 258V: An upper mid-range Lunar Lake family processor. It sports 4 new Skymont E-cores and 4 new Lion Cove P-cores running at up to 3.7 GHz and 4.8 GHz respectively, along with the new Arc 140V iGPU and 32 GB of on-package LPDDR5x-8533 RAM. It essentially matches the Core Ultra 7 165U and Core i7-1360P in multi-thread performance and it eats up to 37 W when under short-term workloads.» Further information can be found in our Comparison of Mobile Processsors.
