A leak has revealed the specs of the successor to HMD's XploraOne phone for kids. The upcoming device is reported to launch as the XploraOne Neo, and will have a larger display and a slightly larger battery capacity.

In addition to leaks revealing details of the HMD Fame compact feature phone and the Asha 505 Android Go smartphone, details of another HMD device have surfaced. This device is reported to launch as the HMD XploraOne Neo, and it should be a follow-up to the XploraOne phone made for kids.

The XploraOne Neo will have a 3.5-inch LCD panel as its display, according to an X post by the popular HMD leaker, smashx_60. This is larger than the 3.2-inch display of the XploraOne. The source also mentions the phone will have a 2MP camera on the rear, 64MB of RAM, and 128MB of storage that can be expanded by up to 32GB via a microSD card slot.

There's no mention of the processor, but the XploraOne has a Unisoc T127 single-core processor clocked at 1GHz. HMD will ship the phone with a custom operating system called RTOS Touch. To compensate for the bigger display, the XploraOne Neo will also have a slightly larger 2,000mAh battery capacity, 50mAh more than that of the XploraOne (available on Amazon.de).

The XploraOne Neo will be available in a single color, but there will be stylish cases to personalize it.

Other features mentioned are LTE, eSIM support, Bluetooth 5.0, USB-C, an audio jack, GPS, Wi-Fi, and Wi-Fi hotspot. It will also have support for maps, video calling, and cloud apps. Like the XploraOne, parents will be able to keep an eye on their child and their phone's usage via the Xplora Guardian app.

There will be only one color available, which is black, but a leaked image shows that there will be cases in different colors and styles. The XploraOne Neo will have an IP54 dust and water resistance rating.

There's no info yet on when the XploraOne Neo will be released and how much it will cost. However, one thing that seems highly likely is that, just like the XploraOne, this will not be sold by HMD, instead it will be available through Xplora and its partner stores.
