GuliKit's Elves 2 Pro is a $50 controller inspired by the Sega Saturn's gamepad

Many gaming accessory manufacturers have products that are clearly inspired by the retro gamepads of old generation consoles, such as the 8BitDo SN30 Pro and the HyperKin DuchesS. GuliKit is one of such brands, and its newest controller, called the Elves 2 Pro, is clearly inspired by the Sega Saturn's gamepad.

The Elves 2 Pro comes in the two colors the original controller was available in. There's a white variant called 'SS Retro' which has colored action buttons and burgundy shoulder and trigger buttons. The controller is also available in 'Dark Black' which has all black buttons, triggers, and thumbsticks save for the wireless button which is blue.

Gulikit's new controller has a SS floating D-pad which is suitable for fighting games. There's also the option to change the D-pad from 8-direction mode to 4-direction mode. The Elves 2 Pro has Hall Effect joysticks that have a 2200-level precision, and while they have domed caps by default, they can be replaced with Gulikit's King Kong thumbstick kit which have anti-friction rings and varying heights.

Another feature of the Elves 2 Pro is its unique magnetic levitation vibration motor which allows users to switch between three vibration modes (HD Rumble mode, Super Haptic Mode, and Rotor Vibration Mode) and nine vibration levels. The controller also has support for semi-auto and full-auto continuous firing modes, a six-axis gyroscope, and motion assist. GuliKit also says it has 10 minutes of auto-pilot gaming.

The Elves 2 Pro is compatible with the Nintendo Switch as well as devices running Windows 7 or later, iOS 13 or later, and Android 4.0 or later. It is also said to be compatible with the Steam Deck and Windows handhelds such as the ROG Ally. The controller connects via Bluetooth (170Hz polling rate) and can also be used in wired mode (1,000Hz polling rate). It has an 800mAh battery which should provide up to 20 hours of use on a single charge.
