8BitDo teases a new product launching on May 16; might be a leverless controller

8BitDo has released a teaser for a new product it has scheduled to launch in a few days. The teaser, which was posted on X, shows the device is flat and has a textured back. The textured back is actually a pattern made of directional arrows and ABXY buttons.

There are already speculations on what the product is. Some say it might be a new arcade stick similar to the 8BitDo Arcade Stick for Xbox (available on Amazon for $119.99), but many think it is a leverless controller.

For those who don't know, a leverless controller which is also known as a hit box-style controller, is a type of gaming controller used for fighting games. Unlike other controllers that have a joystick for directions, a leverless controller has only buttons for input including directions. This allows for greater precision and accuracy which are important when playing fighting games.

8BitDo has revealed that the new product, which is 'Made for Pros' will be announced on May 16 at 8 AM PST (3 PM GMT).
