Ghost Recon 25th anniversary: New content for Wildlands, 95% franchise discount and free game, 4K 60 FPS upgrade announced

Ubisoft is celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Ghost Recon franchise and has offered some interesting updates. While there’s no information about a new game, Ubisoft is working on one and has started an Insider Program for feedback. Furthermore, Ghost Recon Wildlands and Operation Breakpoint have received some visual upgrades, and deep discounts are available for the entire lineup.

Starting with the major announcement, Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Wildlands is getting a free DLC called Last Rites, which adds new story missions and a new antagonist. Those who already own the game can download the update today on consoles and PC. Ubisoft is also allowing players to try the game for free till August 10.

Along with the new story arc, there are many items and customization options that have been added. Some of them were previously exclusive to the Mercenaries mode. The Predator mission returns as well.

Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Operation Breakpoint, the newer game in the franchise, is not getting new content, but will also be updated to allow 4K 60 FPS on consoles, just like Wildlands. It will be free to play till August 10.

Furthermore, the entire Ghost Recon franchise has been discounted by 95% across platforms, and Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier is completely free to keep. Ubisoft has also announced the Ghost Recon Insider Program for getting feedback on helping the development of the next game in the franchise.

Very little information is available about the next game, which is said to be a first-person military simulation (mil-sim) revolving around a fictional ‘Naiman war.’ It will likely be developed on Unreal Engine 5.
