The Garmin Descent Mk3 and Mk3i dive computers are currently receiving Software Version 19.50. This stable update arrives a few weeks after the last, tackling various issues with the wearables. These include resolving a problem where battery estimates were inaccurate in some conditions.

Garmin has released another stable update for the Descent Mk3 and Descent Mk3i dive computers. System Software version 19.50 is a relatively minor update, following the version 19.49 release in late February which added new payment apps and data fields.

Update version 19.50 brings a range of bug fixes to these wearables. Firstly, Garmin has addressed a potential crash issue that occurred when users tried to configure the graphical compass data field located on dive data pages.  Some Descent Mk3 dive computer users have seen a blank space near the top of the map when navigating; this problem has been resolved. The release notes state that an inaccuracy with dive battery estimates, linked to in-activity always-on display mode, has been rectified.

Garmin has also looked at a problem with Plan Dive, where navigation to nearby dive sites would not start. Plus, a bug relating to the map-based Auto Zoom and Orientation setting toggles has been fixed. System Software version 19.50 should be pushed automatically to Descent Mk3 and Descent Mk3i dive computers (curr. $1,399.99 at Amazon). Alternatively, you can manually trigger the update through Garmin Connect or Garmin Express.
