Garmin smartwatch gets new stable update after three-month wait

Garmin has announced software version 9.02 for the Bounce smartwatch, a model for kids. The wearable is designed to let parents send and receive voice or text messages to their children. On top of this, they can also track their child’s location in real time from a compatible smartphone.

Firstly, the change log for software version 9.02 states that Garmin has resolved a problem where location reports were sent multiple times. The second point states that there are “various bug fixes and stability improvements”, without providing further information on where customers may feel these benefits. This latest stable update comes after version 8.20, which rolled out in late May. The earlier release brought improvements to audio message recording and reduced the impact of poor LTE coverage. 

However, customers continue to use the Garmin forum to flag issues relating to messages failing to be sent or being delayed, with no official resolution provided by the company. According to a post on the company’s forum, this relatively minor stable update has rolled out to all eligible wearables.
