New Garmin Forerunner smartwatch software now available with updated vibration feature
The Garmin Forerunner 255 smartwatch is receiving software version 20.26. The change log accompanying this new stable update indicates that there are new features, several improvements and a range of bug fixes for the wearable.
These include the new Garmin Share tool, which allows you to send workout and map data to other Garmin devices. A second addition is the Device Settings Backup and Restore tool. There are optimizations for the Pool Swim activity, and race time predictions are said to be more accurate. On top of this, the Garmin Run Coach can now integrate with the Garmin Connect app. Plus, there are bug fixes for issues like the calendar display and truncated text on maps.
On top of this, Garmin claims to have fixed the persistent notification vibrations feature. However, users noted that the vibration now cuts off after six rings rather than continuing until you respond. A representative for the company indicated that Garmin was trying to please as many customers as possible with its latest solution, as some users had previously complained that vibrations continued for too long. You can download the update for your Forerunner 255 smartwatch by going to Menu > System > Software Update > Check For Updates.
