The Galaxy S25 Ultra could be dismissed as simply having become the most iPhone-like device of its line to date - however, its design upgrades go beyond that, according to vloggers such as iFixit's Shahram Mokhtari.
The group now concurs with others such as PhoneRepairGuru on the subject of its greatly improved "battery release mechanism", even though it agrees with JerryRigEverything that its S Pen is less useful, having lost the Bluetooth connectivity supported in its S24 Ultra forebear (now available for as little as $890 on Amazon).
By contrast, the S25 Ultra's Corning Gorilla Armor 2-covered 6.9-inch 120Hz OLED display is apparently a "nightmare" to remove, a process now not recommended by iFixit unless it is already broken. Then again, that also seems to be the only way to get at the device's newly enlarged vapor chamber.
iFixit has thus declared the new One UI 7 flagship "the most repair-friendly Samsung device we've seen in a decade".
Despite that, it still only attained a preliminary score of 5/10, due to the OEM's "aggressive anti-repair tactics" such as a reluctance to provide a full range of spare parts and gatekeeping services in order to access user data.
The S25 Ultra has also received very mixed reviews in terms of durability and performance thus far.
