GTA Online summer 2026 update brings a massive new heist to Los Santos

Rockstar Games has announced a major new update for GTA Online centered on a multi-stage art gallery heist. The Kortz Center Heist is scheduled to drop on July 14, 2026, and is widely expected to be one of the final big content updates for GTA Online before Grand Theft Auto VI arrives later in the year.

The Kortz Center has stood as one of Los Santos' most recognizable landmarks since the game launched in 2013. Perched in the hills of Pacific Bluffs, the gallery houses a collection of international works. For the first time, players will now have the opportunity to target it.

Players must first purchase a Mansion property and install the new Art Studio extension to unlock access to the heist. The studio doubles as a base for art counterfeiting operations, giving players a criminal side hustle while they plan the main job. From there, crews can scope out the Kortz Center, select from multiple approach options, and execute the heist in up to four-player co-op or solo.

Rockstar describes the update as a multi-stage operation requiring infiltration and escape planning. The format follows the structure of earlier large-scale heists like the Diamond Casino Heist and the Cayo Perico Heist, which remain two of the most replayed pieces of content in GTA Online's history.

In the weeks before the update, Rockstar is running the Fine Art Collector program, a series of in-game events offering bonus GTA$ rewards and record-breaking discounts on properties. GTA+ subscribers will receive a $2,000,000 in-game currency discount on Mansion purchases, and Shark Card buyers can take advantage of a limited 40% bonus on currency packs.

Alongside the heist announcement, Rockstar confirmed free platform upgrades for older versions of GTA V. Players who own a PS4 copy or the digital Xbox One version will be able to upgrade to the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S editions at no cost. PC players on the Legacy version can also move to GTA V Enhanced for free, gaining ray-traced ambient occlusion and global illumination. GTA+ members will also receive access to GTA V's story mode as part of the GTA+ Games Library.
