GTA 6 PS5 pre-orders just sold out on an Italian website and nobody from Rockstar said a word

There has been no third trailer. No official announcement. No marketing from Rockstar whatsoever. And yet, the PS5 version of GTA 6 is already sold out.
Earlier today, Italian retailer Showgame went live with GTA 6 pre-orders in the EU at €69.90 for both PS5 and Xbox Series X. This price surprised many, since it was well below the €79.99 mark that's become the going rate for major console releases. The listing confirmed a November 19, 2026 delivery date, which is consistent with Take-Two's reaffirmed launch window. It's widely suspected Showgame jumped the gun on Take-Two's official timing, but that didn't stop buyers from moving fast.
The PS5 version is now showing as sold out — "Esaurito" on the listing — with a notify-me button in place of the pre-order option. The Xbox Series X version still has 48 units available at the time of writing.

What makes this interesting isn't just the speed. This happened on a regional Italian retailer with no official Rockstar backing, driven entirely by organic demand built up through weeks of leak coverage - the Best Buy affiliate email, the Walmart backend entry, the Take-Two stock surge. The fact that PS5 stock evaporated first is also in line with console market trends, where PlayStation continues to command a significantly larger install base for multiplatform titles.
Major storefronts including the PlayStation Store, Best Buy (where pre-orders might not even go live today), and Amazon haven't listed GTA 6 yet, so Showgame can still be considered an outlier. But if this is what demand looks like before an official announcement, the moment Rockstar actually pulls the trigger should be something else entirely.
Take-Two's earnings call is May 21, three days away.
