Pre-orders for GTA 6 are open in Europe, at surprisingly low price

After rumors had already suggested that pre-orders for GTA 6 would open on May 18, the Italian retailer Showgame is kicking things off. The retailer's online store offers GTA VI for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X for €69.90 each. The price is surprising, as this makes the open-world blockbuster from Take-Two even cheaper than many blockbusters from the competition, which now cost €79.99 on consoles.
On platforms such as the PlayStation Store, GTA 6 is not yet available for pre-order. However, now that GTA 6 is already available from a first retailer, it shouldn't be long before other retailers follow suit. The situation looks as if Showgame has misunderstood the time specified by Take-Two for the start of pre-orders. Those who pre-order the game today are expected to receive their delivery on November 19, 2026. This release date was recently reconfirmed by the CEO of Take-Two, so the publisher does not expect the game to be delayed any further.
Grand Theft Auto VI is the first main game in the series since GTA 5 was released in 2013. The game world revolves around Vice City, a fictional version of Miami, but also offers varied landscapes outside the actual city. GTA 6 is the first installment in the series to feature a female protagonist, Lucia Caminos, who plays the lead role together with her partner Jason Duval.
