The global launch of GPD's next mini laptop is fast approaching. Having confirmed a starting price of $495 last week, the company has now confirmed that the MicroPC 2 will launch on Indiegogo in just three days' time. Specifically, the device should be available to back on the popular crowdfunding website from 02:00 UTC on July 10 with the following hardware:

In short, the MicroPC 2 is a smaller and less powerful alternative to the already comparatively tiny Pocket 4 (curr. $1,481 on Amazon). By default, GPD will ship the MicroPC 2 with 512 GB of storage. However, the mini laptop can also be upgraded with more storage via its M.2 2280 slot. Please note that this slot only provides PCIe Gen3 ×4 bandwidth.
In the meantime, GPD is already selling the MicroPC 2 in China with the same configuration. As it turns out, the device is significantly cheaper in China than on Indiegogo, despite the company insisting that its Indiegogo campaign provides an 18% discount over its eventual global MSRP. To that end, the MicroPC 2 can be purchased from JD.com for CNY 2,999, which currently converts to roughly $417.99.
