The GPD Pocket 4 now has an official release date. Arriving before December rolls around, the compact laptop combines modern AMD Ryzen APUs with an 8.8-inch and 144 Hz convertible display, plus a whole heap of ports.

The GPD Pocket 4 has been a long time coming. For context, the device debuted in August, less than two months after GPD refreshed the Pocket 3 (curr. $679.95 on Amazon). While it sporadically shared more details about the Pocket 4 in the ensuing months, GPD's attention turned to releasing the Duo instead.

With the Duo out of the way, GPD returned to the Pocket 4 this month. Initially, the company started by confirming all technical specifications before outlining pricing for three launch SKUs. For some reason, GPD decided against revealing when it planned to start selling the Pocket 4 though, which it has now rectified.

Specifically, the Pocket 4 will be available to back via Indiegogo on November 27 from 02:00 UTC. Please note that GPD will eventually bring the device to other retail platforms, albeit at higher prices. Ultimately though, all units will ship with the same 8.8-inch, 144 Hz and 2.5K IPS display mounted to a convertible hinge design. For reference, GPD will offer the Pocket 4 through Indiegogo at the following configurations and price points:

  • AMD Ryzen 7 8840U, 16 GB RAM, 1 TB SSD - $829
  • AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 365, 32 GB RAM, 1 TB SSD - $1,057
  • AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370, 64 GB RAM, 2 TB SSD - $1,335
