GMK NucBox: Compact Mini-PC to begin shipping before the end of the month
The GMK NucBox remains available to purchase, despite being out of stock on the manufacturer's website. We had a frustrating experience with the NucBox, but GMK had said that it would address the problems that we faced before it started shipping retail units.
If you are still interested in the NucBox, then the Mini-PC can be picked up from Banggood or Indiegogo. The latter website is the cheaper option of the two, where the 128 GB edition retails for around US$179. By contrast, Banggood sells the same model for US$219.99, along with the 512 GB model for US$279.99 - US$50.99 more than it costs on Indiegogo. Banggood will offer a better guarantee and return policy than Indiegogo though, so the additional outlay could save you some hassle in the long run.
To recap, the NucBox measures 62 x 62 x 42 mm and packs an Intel Gemini Lake Refresh processor. GMK has complemented the Celeron J4125 with 8 GB of RAM, although the machine must rely on the CPU's integrated Intel HD Graphics 600 GPU instead of a dedicated solution. The NucBox also has two USB 3.0 Type-A ports, a USB Type-C port for power, full-sized HDMI port and a microSD card for adding more storage. The machine also supports Bluetooth 4.2 and up to 802.11 ac Wi-Fi.
Banggood will begin shipping the GMK NucBox 'before October 21'. Meanwhile, GMK expects to begin dispatching initial orders from next week.
