Casio launches a new member of the connected EDIFICE watch series
Casio has announced successors to the ECB10 series of EDIFICE watches. Like these watches, the newer models can show some information from a smart device despite have a (mostly) analog face. They can also adjust their own time with respect to their location or daylight-savings situation thanks to the OEM's Smartphone Link.
This is a Bluetooth-aided feature by which an ECB20 variant updates automatically based on data streamed through it via a paired smartphone. This new line can also use the Link to access a device's calendar and use it to alert the user as to imminent tasks, meetings or other events in their day-to-day lives.
Casio notes that this feature has been added following feedback from running teams who apparently regularly use the EDIFICE Connected series, but is also a timely tweak for users who need to keep on top of their schedules while working remotely.
The ECB20 series has also been updated with a new design that moves the screws in its face into a square arranged just inside an octagonal bezel. There are 3 different variants, although they all have black dials in common.
However, the ECB20D-1A has orange dial accents with silver stainless-steel strap-links and bezel, whereas the ECB20DB-1A has blue accents and the same band/bezel material. Finally, the ECB20DC-1A has black accents and an ion-plated bezel and band.
They are priced at US$150, $160 and $220 respectively, and are to become available from October 23, 2020 on Casio's website and in selected retailers across the US.
