Amazfit Bip U: New Apple Watch lookalike with 9 days of battery life to begin shipping from October 16 for under ~US$50
Amazfit unveiled the Bip U earlier this week, and it will be launching next week on October 16. The affordable smartwatch will debut in India, but it may eventually be launched internationally. Initially, the Bip U will be available on Amazon for INR 3,499 (~US$47.95), although this price will go up to INR 5,999 (~US$82.20) after this offer ends.
The Bip U has a 1.43-inch display, which at 320 x 302 pixels, and is covered with 2.5D glass. The latter has an anti-fingerprint coating, that should come in handy. Overall, the Bip U bares an uncanny resemblance to the Apple Watch, although this is somewhat unsurprising considering how Apple dominates the smartwatch market. Amazfit has equipped the smartwtch with a 255 mAh battery, a capacity it claims should yield runtimes of up to 9 days between charges. The smartwatch should also take around 2 hours to recharge.
Additionally, the Bip U is waterproof up to 50 metres, allowing you to swim with it attached to your wrist. The smartwatch only weighs 31 g too and can measure blood-oxygen levels. Moreover, Amazfit has included over 60 sports modes, which incorporate with its pedometer, heart-rate monitor calorie counter, among other features. Finally, the Bip U comes with 50 pre-loaded watch faces and can receive notifications from Android or iOS devices.
