We are still a month away from CES 2022, the event where Intel and NVIDIA are expected to reveal new hardware. However, a European retailer has revealed Alder Lake-P and RTX 30 Ti configurations of four upcoming MSI gaming laptops. As the screenshot below shows, MSI will announce upgraded versions of the GE66 and GE76 Raider, along with equivalent GS66 and GS76 Stealth machines.
The retailer confirms that the four laptops will arrive with a choice of the Core i7-12700K and Core i9-12900HK, 14-core processors split between 6 performance and 8 efficiency cores. Hence, the Core i7-12700K and Core i9-12900HK should offer 20 threads, albeit with different CPU clock speeds.
Additionally, the listings describe the GE66, GE76, GS66 and GS76 as having the GN20-E6 or GN20-E8, codenames of the RTX 3070 Ti and RTX 3080 Ti, respectively. Based on previous leaks, both will have GDDR6 VRAM and 256-bit memory buses, although that is where the similarities end. Reputedly, the RTX 3070 Ti will rely on a GA104 GPU paired with 8 GB of VRAM, with the RTX 3080 Ti utilising 16 GB of VRAM and the GA103 that has 7,424 CUDA cores.
MSI's premium gaming laptops will start at €2,691 too, at least with the retailer @momomo_us discovered. The GE76 Raider will cost over €2,000 more with a Core i9-12900HK and an RTX 3080 Ti, though.
