Thunderbolt 4, PCIe Gen 4, improved palm rejection, and an even thinner chassis round up the list of major changes for this year's premier gaming laptop from Razer.

With the Intel 11th gen Core-H series now out in the wild, major OEMs will soon be updating their respective high-performance laptops. One of these laptops is the refreshed Razer Blade 15 which the manufacturer expects to ship by the end of June.

The 11th gen Blade 15 Advanced Model can be configured with a Core i9-11900H CPU or the base Core i7-11800H to replace last year's 10th gen Core i7-10750H or Core i7-10875H. Interestingly, Razer has omitted any data comparing the performance benefits of 10th gen vs. 11th gen which suggests that overall performance will likely be very similar year-over-year. This isn't just Razer as other PC makers like HP and MSI haven't really touched upon how much extra performance users can expect over their previous generation Comet Lake-H models.

Upgrading to 11th gen will naturally bring auxiliary benefits such as PCIe 4.0 and Thunderbolt 4 to replace last year's PCIe 3.0 and Thunderbolt 3, respectively. The older 720p webcam will be updated to 1080p across all Advanced Model SKUs which will definitely come in handy since most users are still stuck at home. Meanwhile, the 360 Hz/2 ms FHD display and DDR4-3200 RAM support remain identical to last year's Comet Lake-H models.

And finally, the chassis for the RTX 3060 SKU is now thinner at 15.8 mm compared to 16.99 mm on the 2020 Advanced Model series. SKUs with the RTX 3070 or higher will still be 16.99 mm. It's a bit confusing at first, but the table below summarizes the new changes to the Advanced Model SKUs very well.

As for the lesser Base Model, SKUs remain the same year-over-year including the 144 Hz/8 ms FHD and 165 Hz/3 ms QHD display options. This means you'll have to invest in the Advanced Model if you want 11th gen Core-H and all its fancy new features.

Prices for the Advanced Model range from $2299 up to $3399 USD. The official Razer store will begin accepting pre-orders starting May 17.
