Fitbit Charge 6 successor leaks with a domed display and elevation tracking

When Google showed off the Pixel 11, one of its ads included a fitness band that nobody could identify. It now appears to be the Fitbit Edge, a new band with a display. Google has not introduced a traditional Fitbit band like it since the Charge 6 arrived in 2023, and the more recent Fitbit Air has no screen at all.
The most noticeable difference from the Charge 6 is the Fitbit Edge’s fuller, more rounded screen. Around it, metal strips run along the sides of the case and could be used for ECG readings, although that feature remains unconfirmed. On the back, Fitbit Edge branding sits alongside the sensors and release mechanisms for changing the strap. The design has changed, but the listed everyday functions largely follow the Charge 6. These include notifications, Google Maps directions, YouTube Music and other media controls, and Find My Phone. Like the Charge 6 and Fitbit Air, it would connect to Android phones and iPhones through Bluetooth.
The leak suggests that the Fitbit Edge will include an altimeter, a sensor missing from both the Charge 6 and Fitbit Air. It would count floors climbed and add elevation data to walks, runs and hikes, while built-in GPS records the route without a phone. The band is also said to recognise workouts automatically, so an activity can still be logged if the wearer forgets to start tracking. Battery life is listed at up to seven days, matching both existing bands.
The Edge is expected to be available in black, green and orange, resembling the Obsidian, Olive and Canyon colours of the Pixel 11 Pro. Google has not announced a release date or pricing for the band.
