Humble Bundle offers collections of cheap games, with a percentage of proceeds benefiting charities. Meanwhile, Humble Choice is a monthly subscription that streamlines the process of choosing titles. However, fans are finding their generosity tested as the service is increasing its rates again. Wario64 shared an email detailing the price hikes on social media.
Starting on July 1st, U.S. customers can expect to now pay $14.99 per month or $154.99 per year for Humble Choice. Gamers in other regions are also posting emails with similar changes. Humble Bundle explains that the new rates will allow it to provide the "highest-quality games and content you love." The announcement follows a May notice of rising prices and a forced membership to IGN Plus.
The service arguably still offers more value than alternative subscription plans. Even so, some supporters appear ready to pause or cancel their payments. To keep these customers loyal, the company points out the other advantages of the service. Besides a catalog of older cheap games from prominent publishers, gamers also receive discounts on newer AAA titles.
Most options offered by Humble Choice are redeemable keys for Steam games. One title that's drawing attention currently is Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun, which retails for $21.99 on Valve's marketplace. On the other hand, the company has begun to sneak in selections that require alternative launchers. In March 2025, several games were distributed through the Origin platform, which has since transitioned to the EA app. Critics complained that the software is clunky and lacks the convenient features of Steam.
With some games costing as much as $80, subscription plans can be a way to continue an increasingly expensive hobby. Unfortunately, options like PlayStation Plus and Xbox Game Pass have also become pricier in the past year.
