Facebook Dating goes live in the US
Facebook users who were trying to use the social network as a dating website can finally create a Facebook Dating profile and try their luck on a dedicated platform. After almost a year since the start of the first public limited testing run, Facebook Dating is now launching in the US.
According to the official press release, Instagram posts can be integrated directly into Facebook Dating profiles, Instagram followers can be added to the Secret Crush lists, and — by the end of the year — those interested will be able to add Facebook and Instagram Stories to their Dating profile as well.
Facebook Dating profiles are separated from the main Facebook profiles and can only be created by those who are 18 years of age or older and have downloaded that latest version of the Facebook app for their handsets. The service does not require swiping left or right since all Dating users can post comments and like other user profiles. All the Dating activity stays in Facebook Dating — at least until proven otherwise, of course.
Right now, Facebook Dating is available in the US and the following 19 other countries: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Laos, Malaysia, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, the Philippines, Singapore, Suriname, Thailand, Uruguay, and Vietnam. European Facebook users should be able to dive in by early 2020.
