FEVM has introduced a new AMD Strix Halo mini PC, the FAEX1. It's a small system with a grille design that's similar to the Apple Mac Pro, and under the hood, it features the Ryzen AI Max+ 395, which is the top-end option in the lineup, and it comes with the Radeon 8060S iGPU.
This iGPU, according to our tests, can deliver the same level of gaming performance as the Nvidia RTX 4070 Laptop. For those who would want to pair a discrete GPU with the mini PC, there is an OCuLink port and two USB4 ports, which bring eGPU support. These ports are accompanied by the following:
- 2x USB 3.2 Type-A
- 1x DisplayPort 2.0
- 1x HDMI 2.1
- 1x 3.5 mm audio
- 1x SD 4.0 card reader
- 1x 2.5G Ethernet
- 1x 10G Ethernet
For wireless connectivity, the FEVM FAEX1 has WiFI 7 and Bluetooth 5.4. The APU is paired with what the company claims to be a 160 W cooling setup, featuring two active fans and a large vapor chamber. This cooler, per FEVM, allows the system to deliver "peak performance" during heavy loads.
Other notable aspects of the mini PC include a small 1-liter chassis, three M.2 slots for PCIe 4.0 SSDs (2 TB Samsung 990 Pro curr. $209.99 on Amazon), and up to 128 GB of LPDDR5X RAM. The starting price in China is CNY 1,0999, around $1,557. FEVM is less likely to officially bring this Strix Halo system outside China, as it tends not to offer most of its products in the global market. However, it might become available on retailers like AliExpress.
