Elegoo M1 Ultra all-in-one 3D scanner launched with 0.02 mm accuracy, 3-inch touchscreen

Elegoo, a big player in the 3D printing space, is entering a new market with its first-ever 3D scanner, the M1 Ultra. It is an all-in-one 3D scanner that competes with the Creality Sermoon P1 and the more recent Sermoon P1S. But it focuses more on ergonomics and a compact form factor. The Elegoo M1 Ultra is also cheaper than its competition.
Elegoo M1 Ultra features and specifications
Featuring a 34-line blue laser, seven-line blue laser, single-line blue laser mode, and infrared structured light mode, the Elegoo M1 Ultra covers all scanning scenarios. It claims up to 0.02 mm metrology-grade accuracy with 0.02 mm + 0.06 mm/m volumetric accuracy. That’s on par with Creality’s Sermoon P1. The M1 Ultra also boasts marker-free scanning with the blue laser, but it is unclear if that is through a wired PC connection only.
The scanning and partial processing are handled by the 8-core CPU, but Elegoo doesn’t provide RAM and storage details. It is backed by a 4,800 mAh battery that charges via USB-C. It supports wireless scanning as well as a wireless PC connection over Wi-Fi 6. The scanner weighs 511 grams and comes with a spare battery, tripod, and NR filters in the box.
Price and availability
The Elegoo M1 Ultra is available via the official store starting today, October 29, for $1,699. Elegoo is also running an early bird offer that brings the price down to $1,599. This offer will last till November 12.
