ESR: New in-car wireless charger launches with Qi2 as well as MagSafe
Having completed its CES appearance, ESR has now confirmed that its 2024 line-up of accessories will include new versions of its 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Set for travel and 3-in-1 Charger Stand for the home with the new Qi2 standard for Android smartphones.
They will be available via the OEM's own web-store and on Amazon (where ESR claims to be the "#1 Brand of MagSafe accessories") soon. However, the first taste of the new technology is found in a sibling better suited for use in the car.
The new Magnetic Wireless Car Charger is a member of ESR's legacy HaloLock series, yet boasts an "upgraded Qi2 chip" for its new spec. It is also backed to support the fastest 15W charging for iPhones on its launch, taking 2 hours and 37 minutes to charge a 15 Pro Max as opposed to 2 hours and 43 minutes for an "official MagSafe charger" in ESR's testing.
The accessory's apparently hyper-fast charging pad is found in a form-factor that can attach to either a dashboard, an air-vent or another surface on which an adhesive pad can be used, and also integrates a USB port (type-C with a type-A adapter) for its own power supply.
The ESR Qi2 Magnetic Wireless Car Charger is available from now, albeit in black only, from esrgear.com or Amazon with coupons or discounts that bring its MSRP of $39.99 down to $29.99 at the time of writing.
