After selling off its subsidiary, Honor, Huawei is keenly focusing on providing the next major software update for its devices. The company, a short while ago, revealed its basic EMUI 11 update roadmap.
Huawei has confirmed that it will send out the EMUI 11 update to 14 of its most important devices. As reported previously, those fourteen devices include phones in the P40, P30, Mate 30 Pro, and Mate 20 series. According to the official roadmap, those phones will not start getting the EMUI 11 update until next year.
Of course, that schedule is for the full, stable release of EMUI 11 for those devices. Before then, the P30, P30 Pro, Mate 20, Mate 20 Pro, Mate 20 X 4G, Mate 20 X 5G, and Nova 5T are all billed to get EMUI 11 beta updates next month in Europe—according to a report by Huawei Central.
As always, it's important to note that EMUI 11 is based on Android 10, not Android 11 as one would expect. That should make for less time spent on development, so updates should get to devices sooner than it would if it were based on Android 11.
