DxOMark: The Huawei P40 Pro is the best camera smartphone in the world
The Huawei P40 Pro was launched last week and has now made its way to DxOMark where it was put through the website's photo and video tests. As expected, the P40 Pro performed extremely well, and now holds the top spot on DxOMark's smartphone leaderboard.
The Huawei P40 Pro recorded an overall score of 128. The next on the chart is the recently released OPPO Find X2 Pro (124), Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro (124), and yet another Huawei offering, the Mate 30 Pro 5G (123). In the still photography test, the P40 Pro earned a score of 140, significantly higher than the OPPO Find X2 Pro, Mi 10 Pro, and Mate 30 Pro 5G, all of which share a score of 134.
In the video test, the Huawei P40 Pro made do with a score of 105, making it the best smartphone for video on the market. The OPPO Find X2 Pro and Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro are, once again, the closest, with scores of 104.
In the selfie test, the P40 Pro earned a score of 103. Next in line is the Huawei Nova 6 5G (100), then the Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ (99), and the Asus Zenfone 6 (98) with its 48 MP swiveling camera.
Seeing as every released Huawei flagship jumps to the top of DxOMark's rankings, it was just about expected that the P40 Pro would also dominate on its debut. However, the website is yet to test the Samsung Galaxy S20 phones, and there's a slim chance that the S20 Ultra could topple the Huawei P40 Pro when it's finally reviewed.
As always, it's important to note that DxOMark's scores aren't to be regarded as gospel.
