New leaks add a Pro Plus variant and 40W charging to the upcoming Honor 30 series
Huawei may have found itself precluded from the use of Google mobile services among Android OEMs recently: however, it is more than able to join in when it comes to releasing flagship phones with double- (or even triple-) barrelled names signifying their equally extensive spec lists. The company has really gone all in this in 2020, with the introduction of the P40 Pro Plus. Now, it seems the same is about to happen with another, related premium line-up.
An Honor executive has reportly posted a hype-building message about this new series to Weibo - from a device tagged as a "30 Pro + 5G". This is a solid indication that this brand (which is also a Huawei subsidiary) is about to launch 3 new variants of the same device soon, and not 2 as previously thought. This event has reportedly been confirmed to take place on April 15, 2020.
This device is now rumored to have the model number EBG-AN10, whereas that of the next highest-end putative model the 30 Pro may be EBG-AN00. The new technically quintuple-monikered phone is also now projected to be the one that comes with this series' rumored 50MP main camera.
As such, it may also come with the new Kirin 985 SoC, which may or may not have been developed to leverage this ultra-high-res sensor. In other Honor 30 news, these new phones are now also touted to come with P40-esque 40W charging; furthermore, they may also have fast wireless charging. Therefore, they may be a solid option for those looking for flagship specs with what could be more mid-range price-tags.
