The classic FPS titles Doom and Doom II go mobile
The legendary FPS titles Doom and Doom II are now finally available for iOS and Android handsets. While they are not free, they come for a fair price of US$4.99 each. Doom includes the "Thy Flesh Consumed" expansion and Doom 2 comes with 20 new levels, four-player co-op, and four-player multiplayer.

Many of today's gamers were not even born when the first Doom title was released, but it is never too late to bring back the classics to mobile devices. Doom and Doom II are now finally available for iOS and Android handsets. Sadly, those who were expecting them to be free will be disappointed: each of them carries a price tag that reads US$4.99.

The good part is that even those who played the aforementioned games back in the 1990s will find something new in their mobile versions: Doom comes with the "Thy Flesh Consumed" expansion and its successor features a lot of goodies, such as 20 new levels, four-player co-op, and four-player multiplayer support.

Although it is not available for iOS or Android handsets yet, Doom 3 has been available since 2015 for the NVIDIA SHIELD Android TV and NVIDIA SHIELD Tablet. All three Doom games mentioned here can be played on laptops and desktop computers, but it is always great to be able to enjoy your favorite classics on smartphones and tablets.

Bethesda will release the next installment in the series, namely Doom Eternal, on November 22. Until then, there is plenty of time to enjoy Doom and Doom II on iOS and Android. As usual, if these titles bring back some ancient memories, feel free to drop them in the comments section. In the end, I am sure that I am not the only ancient who remembers playing Doom on a desktop PC with MS-DOS 6.22 and an Intel 80386 processor.
