The Dockcier is a Thunderbolt 3 dock and up to 8 TB storage extender. The company, also named Dockcier, is crowdfunding the device on Kickstarter. The dock has many ports, including two Thunderbolt 3 ports for speeds up to 40 Gbps, allowing you to export content at 8K resolution with a minimal delay.
An HDMI 2.0 port supports resolutions up to 8K at 60 Hz. Two USB-A and a USB-C port are capable of transfer speeds up to 10 Gbps, and the Ethernet port can handle 1 Gbps. PD technology permits 100 W fast charging for connected devices. Plus, there are two 15 W wireless charging pads on top of the dock, which could fully charge an iPhone 13 in 2:30 hours. The Dockcier also has an M.2 2280 enclosure for NVMe drives operating at PCIe Gen3 x4, which allows you to swap in up to 8 TB SSDs.
The gadget is compatible with macOS, Windows and Linux systems, and you can connect to two displays simultaneously. Ventilation holes on each side of the device ensure it keeps cool, and indication lights show the connection status of each port. You can now pledge HK$928 (~US$119) to the Kickstarter campaign to receive a Dockcier. This includes a 43% saving off the retail price of HK$1,640 (~US$209). The gadget comes with a USB Type-C to DC adapter and a 90 mm (~3.5-inch) Thunderbolt 3 cable, which you can store in the device's base. The dock is expected to ship in October.
