Dell releases new MacBook Neo rival internationally with 14-inch display and 32 GB RAM

Dell has snuck out a new 14-inch laptop. Released alongside a larger 15-inch counterpart, the Dell 14 appears to serve as a cheaper alternative to the Dell 14S that arrived in May. Incidentally, we have just reviewed the latter with the same Core Ultra 7 355 processor as the XPS 14 and the Yoga Slim 7i Ultra Aura Edition (curr. $2,299 on Amazon).
By contrast, the Dell 14 adopts Intel's Wildcat Lake platform with a choice between the Core 3 304, Core 5 320 or Core 7 350. For reference, the Core 7 350 is noticeably more powerful than either the Core 3 304 or Core 5 320. By contrast, the Core 7 350 trails the Core Ultra 7 355 and even the Apple A18 Pro by a sizeable margin in our benchmarks.
Setting that aside, the Dell 14 complements Intel's Wildcat Lake processors with a 41 Wh battery, M.2 storage and user-upgradeable DDR5-5600 RAM. Furthermore, Dell includes a 1,920 x 1,200-pixel IPS panel with 400 nits peak brightness, a 60 Hz refresh rate and 45% NTSC colour space coverage.
All this hardware sits within a 1.28 kg housing that measures 313 x 222 x 11~18 mm. Pricing starts at AUD 1,149, €749 and £649 (~$875) with 8 GB of RAM and a 512 GB SSD. Alternatively, one can configure 16 GB or 32 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage.
In that sense, the Dell 14 is another alternative to the MacBook Neo. Moreover, the Dell 14 undercuts the XPS 13, even after factoring in student discount. However, the new 14-inch laptop is not available in North America yet. Please see Dell's website for more details.
